  Titanium Binding Posts

The applications for binding posts are only as limited as the users imagination and ingenuity. Said to be originally created by the Chicago Post newspaper to hold their proofs of the current day’s paper for the pressmen, binding posts or Chicago post clamps have a diverse list of uses. It’s true that the main application for binding screw posts does involve paper or printed items, however we have customers that use these for a wide variety of applications other than just as book binding supplies. Print shops bind paper swatch books together using screw posts. Leather crafters use binding posts in the production of saddles, holsters, purses and more.  Scrap booking enthusiasts use screw posts for book binding. Binding post clamps have also been used to secure the corners of picture frames – some in a museum with prints sandwiched between two clear plexiglass sheets.  An eye wear company uses them to hold eyeglass frames on a display rack at trade shows.

This multifunctional fastener made from titanium will last virtually forever. Because it is corrosion free in the natural environment, it will never rust or corrode. And it is strong. Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium’s yield strength is roughly 3 times as much as stainless steel. In short, once you install a titanium binding post, it is very unlikely that it will ever need to be replaced in your lifetime!
