This chainplate is manufactured from Grade 5 TRUE TITANIUM(TM). Known as the workhorse of the aerospace industry, 6Al-4V (Grade 5) titanium has proven itself worthy to serve on everything from space shuttles to lunar rovers. Now, this space age material is available to serve on your vessel in the mast saving, life protecting form of a high strength chainplate. Not only is it three and a half times stronger than stainless steel, but it also will remain corrosion proof in the natural environment for the remainder of your vessel's lifetime and then some. As an added bonus, titanium weighs 44% less than a traditional stainless steel plate.
