Titanium Fasteners Info

  Titanium Fasteners

A child rode his bike that was passed down from his father when he was a child. As he rode, he hit a bump and the handle bars came apart. The resulting crash and injury were caused by the fact that the bolt holding the handle bars to the bike was rusted and had broken in half. This accident could have been prevented if the bolt were made of titanium.

Fasteners made from steel and many other metals primarily made of iron rust and break easily, making products dangerous as they age. Titanium is corrosion free, making it resistant to most chemicals. Replacing, or initially using, fasteners made from titanium make products safer and more cost efficient because there are little to no maintenance costs.

Titanium fasteners are now both popular and affordable. It is amazing that grade 5 (6AL-4V) titanium is three times as strong as steel while only weighing 56% as much! Titanium’s advantages over other metals for fasteners give it the ability to make new and improved quality products!
