These bolts are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). Grade 5 titanium is a common aerospace alloy that has been used in commercial aircraft for decades. The bolts have a flange under the head for distributing the bolting force, but DO NOT have a dimple in the top of the head that designates high strength. The heads are drilled for safety wire and reduced in diameter from what they would be normally be for a given shank diameter. This reduction in size is done for applications where there are head clearance issues, or to reduce weight even further beyond the weight savings that titanium offers. With a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa), they are designed to be safety wired in structural applications for engines, race cars, powerboats, machinery, etc. If you are looking for high strength, or lightweight, or zero rust and want a reduced flange head that can be safety wired, these bolts will work perfectly. Keep in mind, though, that there is no dimple to distinguish them from the lower strength Grade 2 (CP) titanium bolts.
