Flange bolts have a wide flange under the head of the bolt that acts as built in washer. This serves to distribute the pressure of the bolt to a larger bearing surface over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the part. Common uses include cylinder heads, chassis, bolting through slots as well as thinner metal.
These flange bolts are Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium and are TRUE TITANIUM(TM). They are about 3 and a half times stronger than stainless steel, 44% lighter and completely corrosion free, even in saltwater. These aerospace grade bolts have a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa). If you are a race car driver, these are the flange bolts you want holding your car together. If you are a sailboat cruiser, these are the bolts you want holding your rig up.
